Historic chance: cancel student debt

In general, CONYO is an invitation to join a movement that aims to pave the way for top-to-bottom reform: citywide, statewide, nationwide, and worldwide. The ideas behind this new system are compelling and, for the first time in American history, could bring together rival movements such as MAGA, Black Lives Matter, No Kings, and others, alongside New York and nationwide students, to support a voting system that takes power away from politicians and places it in the hands of American taxpayers.

It is a call for this generation to help future generations avoid the suffering we all witness today from the modern political circus, to finally end the Greek-invented farce of representative democracy, and to replace the museum-worthy United Nations.

About the movement logo. The logo emphasizes the letter “O” to represent “others,” making it larger than the letters “CO” and “NY.” The initials of Columbia and NYU are included simply for branding and do not mean the movement is limited to the Ivy League.

It is also a coincidence that the term “coño” — pronounced conyo — is a strong expression in Dominican Spanish, similar to “damn,” and is used by most Hispanic New Yorkers. The term reflects the shock nationwide politicians may feel when students help bring an end to traditional democracy.

How you judge this moment will depend on how Washington Square News and Columbia Daily Spectator respond.

If nothing happens, history may remember that those who had the chance to help failed both current and future generations.

But if this new system rises and makes your future lives better, then the heroes inside NYU’s and Columbia’s student newspapers — along with New York students, students across America, and the students of Canada — deserve credit for helping make it happen.

To the staff of Washington Square News and Columbia Daily Spectator: the ball is in your court.

I am not making another empty promise like Biden, who promised students relief before the election and failed to deliver afterward. He even went a step further by pardoning his own son — another example of why the current constitutional framework must be fully modernized to help move the nation beyond the industrial and digital ages and into the quantum era.

Dear students, please keep in mind that while this effort begins in New York, its vision extends far beyond the needs of students in a single state. Even if you help elect me as your governor, my authority under the new proposed system would be limited, as New Yorkers would have the power to direct their tax dollars through weekly voting. More importantly, eliminating student loans nationwide for your generation is beyond the financial capacity of New York State alone.

That is why this movement requires support from across the country. As mentioned above, the proposal is straightforward: help the nation break free from today’s broken political circus and transition to the new system. In return, your generation would have a compelling case for receiving student-loan relief that distinguishes it from previous and future generations. Americans will remember who helped make this transformation possible, and with enough national support, I am confident your student debt will be canceled overnight.

It starts where big things usually start: New York.

New York first. Canada second. Then the nation, and eventually the world.

Why Canada? I am a man of action, not words, unlike any politician New York has seen before. If I want to solve the two largest problems affecting not only America but also Europe — immigration and the even greater challenge of inflation — then I must be honest: these problems cannot be solved by New Yorkers alone. Canada plays a central role in addressing them, which is why I designed a shared framework that can benefit both the American and Canadian people. If New Yorkers place their trust in me, and if students help me succeed in becoming governor, my next step will be to engage with Canadians and promote this new system — one whose benefits can already be felt in New York.

Without the Canadian step, I would be offering New Yorkers the same empty promises Mamdani offered — only to end up taxing working-class homeowners and brownstone residents instead of the wealthy. My goal is not to waste energy fighting the rich, but to create opportunities for both the poor and the rich to prosper — generating wealth that increases buying power and helps the economy thrive even more than it did before COVID.

From Washington Square News to Columbia Daily Spectator, from campus conversations to statewide momentum, CONYO can turn a student spark into a national fire.

This may sound like a call for another violent protest, but in fact, the world will witness the difference between old-world upheavals in the style of the French Revolution and a modern North American revolution driven by ideas, votes, and civic participation. To avoid any violence, this should happen by the end of Trump’s term, and it is called Project 55.

In short: New York lights the match. America and Canada see the fire. Project 55 cools things down before the fire even starts. The political circus is put behind bars, and everyone is happy.
